So, what's the over/under on a news report of a giant plasma explosion taking out half of Hawaii?

I swear, we need a class on Cope Failure here. With a big motto of "Life sucks, wear a helmet". Because a lot of people just aren't getting the point. Yes, your life is going to be difficult because you're a mutant. Guess what? There's no natural scientific law saying life's got to be fair or easy. Yes, people are going to let you down. Guess what? You'd better get used to it because it's not going to stop happening.

So you might not have the easy slacker laid-back peaceful life you mistakenly think you deserve. I suppose it's the trend now to let that blind you to the good things you do have.

I for one am not going to follow that particular trend. After classes today, I'll be taking on all comers for the title of Grand Foosball Champion in the second floor lounge room. Whiners, mopers, and cranky folks with delusions of persecution need not apply.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe I should ignore it. Maybe I shouldn't be the only one who happens to realize that a guy who can (and HAS) explode and level a few city blocks is going on a drama queen tear simply because he doesn't like his older brother's choice of vocation and because he's having "girl trouble".

I tell you, when CNN reports about the next mutant menace going supernova in Hawaii, I have one big "I told you so" saved up.

And you figure that just because they're not posting about it on the journal system means that the Professor or Alison or anyone haven't thought about it? Or that being all "sucks to be you, get over it" where Alex can read it is going to help? I get that you're worried, and that's a reasonable thing to worry about it, but given that it's been proven that mutation is affected by emotional state, somehow I don't think being an ass at him is going to improve the situation.

But hey, if that "I told you so" is going to make you feel better, go for it. Personally, I'd rather try to help.

You're damn right I'm worried. People do stupid things when they're irrational. And if you can read that and think that Alex is being in the SLIGHTEST way rational, point it out to me. He's pitching a fit over one thing that he's in the complete wrong about, and another that in the grand scheme of things is as important as a toenail clipping.

I'd hate to see how someone with that much power reacts when an actual crisis comes up.

Forge, you don't understand.

Explain it then. Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me there's some mode of rationality to his behavior.

You are wrong.

Give me some time first.

Well, clearly you know more about what's going on in that post than I do, but tell me, is he in the wrong about whatever he's throwing away his engagement ring over or is that the thing that's not important in the slightest?

And feel free to tell me what qualified as an 'actual' crisis. Because if Mansion invasions count, I can give you a first hand account of his reaction to that, since he helped Shiro and I get the little girls to safety last time.

Come on, Forge, give the guy some slack. How people feel does matter and is important, and whatever's going on, he clearly feels like hell.
