So I'm supposed to be using this journal to express myself and communicate with the rest of the people at the school. The Professor tells me communication's important, and I suppose that it's one of those things that you aren't graded on but it's a test anyway. Fine then.

Apparently everyone here 'does' something. I make stuff. I imagine it in my head, I see it, I make it. If you want some big reason beyond that, just accept that I'm a genius, and leave it at that. Child prodigy, whatever. So that's what I do. Are we "communicating" yet?

Go ahead and stare at the leg when I walk by you in the halls. I know you're going to, and it doesn't bother me. Been used to it for about a year now. Check out the hand, they're a matching set. I don't need your help going up the stairs or opening a door.

Everyone tells me I'm going to like it here, and I'm going to make a lot of new friends. That would be odd, seeing as I'm not certain that I had any old friends, and I'm not sure I'd miss them if I had any. So if I don't run over to shake hands like we're best buddies when you walk into a room, it's not your fault. Unless it is.

This system's set up to buzz me with an email when someone replies to these entries. How quaint. Well, I suppose if this is what passes for communication, it shouldn't be too hard.

And I really don't think your leg's gonna attract much notice what with the people with wings, people with tails, blue people, purple people, furry people, blue furry people, and pretty close to anything else you can think of in the way of people up to and including my girlfriend's pet dragon. The weird part isn't all the weird stuff, it's when you catch yourself walking down the street in town and wondering why everybody looks so normal.

Anything that can be made, yeah. I haven't figured out how purple girl Clarice does her teleporting thing yet, but give it time.

Apparently there's some legal issue to filing for a patent on some of the stuff I've made, so I'm really not into the idea of mass production. Not to mention I'd never get anything done. I'm efficient and brilliant - but not a machine. Mostly.

I'm Illyana. I guess I teleport. You can tell which teleporter I am by my distinct non-purpleness. I'm much better at looking pretty (not so much this week, with the fighting a demon almost to the death thing, but I consider that adequate reason for a temporary leave of duty).

I don't really consider myself a cyborg - my prostheses aren't designed to mimic living tissue. No synthetic myomers here.

I'm down both legs, most of my pelvis, and a good stretch of my back. Had to mimic living tissue whenever possible.

Still, I've got a few toys tucked away here and there. You design your own, or modify one of the Shaw or Stark model prosthetics?

I'm Madelyn Bartlet, one of the medical staff here. If you're sensible and tend to _see_ someone when you're sick, instead of toughing it out and then collapsing in specatacular ways, I'd be one of the ones to see. My line's more genetics than physics - you and Hank McCoy will get on wonderfully, I think - but I'm on a steep learning curve here. So, any help you need, let me know.

I'm Jubilation Lee, least that's what it says on the Birth Certificate. No one calls me that though. Usually it's Jubilee, Jubes, Jubester or something else.

Powers wise, mine are plasma based. At the moment they manifest as sparks that I shoot from my hands. I'm a regular 4th of July.

As for your leg and hand. *shrugs* Dude, considering the amount of physical mutations we have around here, I don't think anyone is gonna stare much. How'd you end up with cybernetic limbs? If you don't mind me asking.
