Yes, I realize that me and painkillers are rare bedfellows, but I think I pulled a Dayspring and pushed my powers a bit today.

So why are you replying to comments then? As an old hand at the powers headache, take the nice painkillers, turn off the journals and try and sleep it off.

Because I can type and read with the monitor off. I taught myself Braille a few years ago, and rigged up a display so I could use the computer at 3am without waking up Kyle. I'd sleep, but my brain doesn't want to sit still.

What have you been up to that's broken your brain like this? If you don't mind me asking, that is. Enquiring (read: nosy) minds and all that.

Oh, nothing big. Doug and I foiled a would-be robbery in the city today, and once the adrenalin wore down, my brain's been trying to reconcile the fact that I had a gun pointed at my head (despite it being unloaded, which I discovered quite to our advantage that I could tell just by looking at it) and I didn't fall down in a little quivering mass of cowardice and metal.

So I'm not sure if it was pushing my power like that that's caused the headache, or just general stress.

And now I have a Jennie in my lap who has tripped upon entering the dark room. Oddly, this makes me feel better.

No powers headache, just an ache in my sternum that refuses to go away, even though I know it's psychosomatic.

About as well as I thought you might be doing, then, which is why the going to check on you. I would have been around sooner only a) I didn't know and b) I had some anger to manage and I wasn't inflicting that on anyone but Sarah's dart board.

And it might be hypocritical of me, but go talk to Sofia. I think she'd have some experience with gun-related issues.

The day was saved, nobody got hurt, and the guy turned himself in peacably. We managed, and neither Forge nor I froze up. I had a bit of a breakdown afterwards, but that's the time to have them.
