So I got my acceptance to the Business School at ESU. Had to fight tooth and nail to get accepted, despite the Dean of Engineering sending me a dozen emails trying to woo me into their science program. This in itself isn't ironic.

Until I find out said Dean has a friend on the US Patent and Trademark Office board, and wouldn't you know it, ESU would just love to get me into their Engineering program. One would think that holding the patent on a new automotive engine design that'll potentially cut down oil consumption by 40% would be a good indicator that I don't need an Engineering-focused collegiate career, but there just seems to be no getting through to people.

And then apparently the good Dean has seen fit to try and tempt me onto this track with scholarship offers: Raytheon, Dow Industrial, Advanced Idea Mechanics, IBM, Lockheed-Martin -- apparently enough people want to sponsor my education, I'm going to start having to wear more stickers than a NASCAR driver.

This just in: Dani took a look at these offers for me and kindly pointed out that most of them don't specify a required course of study. Or even which branch at ESU I am enrolled into. So if I read this right... all these engineering companies are about to pay my way through to a Business degree.

Why can't I just walk in and take the Engineering finals and shut them up? Could that be arranged?

Why couldn't you walk in and take them? Is there a rule that says no?

Yeah. ESU only lets you do that if you've been taking classes via correspondence. Which most of the engineering courses they don't let you do, because they require labs. However, over the past year or so, I've managed to accumulate enough correspondence credits to cover all my electives requirements for the Business School. No sitting through basic math or English 101 for me!

You may want to think about taking some non-buisiness related courses anyway. for some well roundedness. I would kill to see you in a yoga class or cultural anthropology.

they all want to take credit for your genius. what they will do when you graduate with a business degree is then boast that they thought this was a WONDERFUL idea so that you will be able to combine your natural talents with business and make them millions.

whitemen will take your credit and say it was all them. but that doesn't mean you cannot take your credit back.
