Well, that's the second time I've spent a good deal of the night in one of the emergency shelters since I've been here. I do have to say, though, it's a lot better when you're not completely taken off-guard and end up stuck in with the eight year olds who think poking at your leg is the best way to pass the time.

It figures a teacher would go mental the one weekend I decide to spend in. I'm impressed. You lot have officially exceeded my expectations for excitement on a Saturday night.

Ah, but now we have spent the night in the shelters. Now I can smile knowingly when the new kids ask why I keep a sudoku book by my bed.

There's a reason I have a bathrobe right by my bed. Sometimes it's inspiration that strikes and I need to get to the lab at 3:30 in the morning. Other times it's a commabdo raid or someone blowing up the woodline. Best to be prepared.

I rewired an old Gameboy into a laser rangefinder and scanning oscilloscope while I was down there. I kept busy.

well, what's the point of getting pizza now? we should ahve had take-out last night. pizza makes worrying in the shelters so much better.
