Back to the world

Well, after two weeks in a car with three rather attractive women (side note: there were bikinis involved. God bless the surreptitious digital camera.) and a few days' brainventing in the lab - I believe I'm back to what constitutes "normal" for the time being.

Quick - someone fill me in on what I'm supposed to *DO* with a summer without classes. I haven't had one since I was twelve.

EDIT: And if someone can find me the title and artist of that song Jubilee's been humming off-key for the past week? I will be indebted forever, seeing as it'll likely play a major part in my justifiable homicide defense since she's managed to get it stuck in my head.

Jubilee already told everyone, eh?

The sling's off, and while it's still kind of weak (and a little sore, which I heartily welcome) - I am once again possessing dual manipulatory appendages.

gossip spreads faster than the common cold.

you stop at the rez on your trip?

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
We drove by just south of the Montana rez, where my dad grew up. Unfortunately, it was Carlie's turn at driving and she wouldn't let Jubilee and I stop at a casino. You'd think we'd developed some kind of reputation or something.

[identity profile] x-mirage.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
ah...casino's. the blight and salvation of the indian reservations.

can you tell I got that from a book? although it is true.

I'm just thanking my stars that Catseye was asleep in the back seat for that part, otherwise she'd have been bouncing up and down at all the roadside jewelry stands.

[identity profile] x-mirage.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
you didn't STOP!?!?

bad Hahkota! that's how they make their living! My grandmother spent HOURS making jewelry to be sold by my mother! ain't gonna hurt you to buy something! hell, they would ahve given you a discount if you said you were cheyenne too. more if they knew your family.

you talk about helping mutants but you don't even help your own people!

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Can we not get into the semantics again? Mutants ARE "my people".

And you know me, I'm not really the jewelry type.

[identity profile] x-mirage.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)

...so that silver pendant you wear around your neck ain't cause you like it?

and you can have more than one people.

That's a USB hard drive for transferring files between my PDA and my laptop.

Hey - you just gave me an idea. Catch me later tonight, I want to run a business proposition by you.

[identity profile] x-jubilee.livejournal.com 2005-06-27 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
We stopped on the way back. I managed to convince Carlie that I was only going to look at the jewelry. *mwha!* I managed to pick up something really nice for Alison of the non-jewelry nature as well.

MEEP!

Catseye wanted to see those!

Welcome back.

Glad to hear that you've rejoined the land of the dual dexterous appendages.

When you get a chance, stop by my office, OK? Nothing official, but I've got a thorny problem in flow dynamics under pressure that I could use another opinion on.

If you're interested.

Salaam,
Haroun
